Royal Rife and the Cancer Cure

by Susan Lark, M.D.

Susan Lark, M.D., one of the foremost authorities in the fields of clinical nutrition and preventive medicine, has written eleven books on women's health and healing. A graduate of Northwestern University Medical School, she has served on the clinical faculty of Stanford University Medical School, and taught in their Division of Family and Community Medicine. A distinguished physician-educator whose clinical practice has spanned 28 years, Dr. Lark continues to teach and write. Her most recent book is the Chemistry of Success.

Several of my colleagues at my publishing company were recently in San Francisco. Over dinner, the conversation turned to the SARS outbreak, and they asked me what I would do if SARS began to spread in the Bay area. Without hesitating, I told them that I would simply use Rife equipment to combat the virus.

Well, you would think I was speaking Greek. They had never heard of Royal Rife, let alone his equipment. Then it occurred to me. Why would they have? Royal Rife's story has been stifled for decades, and while I am well versed in his theories, the vast majority of the country has never been exposed to Rife and his amazing technology.

Their reaction to the story and their keen interest to know more made me realize that I needed to let you in on one of the most closed guarded secrets of the medical industry. Here is the amazing story of Royal Rife, his miraculous equipment, and where the technology is today.

In a nutshell, the late Raymond Royal Rife was a medical visionary. Considered by some to be the Father of Bioelectric Medicine, he developed technology that is used even today in the fields of biochemistry, ballistics, optics, electronics, radiochemistry, and aviation. He even built and designed several medical instruments, including the heterodyning ultraviolet microscope, the microdissector, and the micromanipulator.

But Rife is best known for creating a microscope that could see virus-sized organisms, and a radio frequency-emitting ray tube that could target and kill specific microorganisms. Thus, he could treat many conditions, allowing patients to become free of whatever disease was ailing them, including cancer.

RIFE'S REVOLUTIONARY MICROSCOPE

Rife's "Universal Microscope" had close to 6,000 parts and could magnify an object to 60,000 times its size. More importantly, it allowed him to view a LIVE virus. Even today's most sophisticated electron microscopes cannot do this.

Because 75 percent of the organisms Rife viewed were visible only with ultraviolet (UV) light, and thereby invisible to the human eye, he needed to develop a means of seeing them. This led him to develop heterodyning--a technique by which he illuminated the virus or bacteria by using two different wavelengths of the same UV light frequency that resonated with that specific organism. When these two wavelengths merged, they produced a third, longer wave that fell into the visible portion of the electromagnetic spectrum. This allowed the organisms to become visible without destroying them.

Using this microscope, Rife was able to see and identify the human cancer virus. Upon closer observation, he noticed that its vibrations caused it to take on a purplish-red color. He questioned if the microbe causing this frequency could be destroyed by another frequency that resonated at the same vibratory rate as the microbe. In an effort to answer his query, Rife spent hours on end sitting at his microscope, adjusting his frequency device, until one day he reached a cer4tain frequency that caused the virus to glow brighter then go out. Immediately thereafter, the microbe itself disintegrated. He repeated this process several times, always getting the same result.

Rife had unwittingly discovered the mortal oscillatory rate (MOR)--the electromagnetic frequency at which a specific organism is destroyed. Because every cell vibrates at a specific and unique frequency, identifying that frequency, then increasing its amplitude causes structural stresses that distort and eventually destroy the organism.Using this technique, Rife could destroy a virus without disturbing or harming surrounding tissue.

RIFE TESTS HIS THEORY AGAINST CANCER

It was one thing to identify viruses under a microscope and destroy them on a petri dish, but would it work in humans? To find out, Rife first injected mice with the BX virus. After they developed cancer, he exposed them to his predetermined frequency. The cancer was destroyed. Every time.

With the safety of his treatment assured, he was eventually pressured to test his theory on humans. In 1934, he exposed 16 terminal cancer patients to frequencies appropriate for their cancers. Treatments usually lasted 3-5 minutes and were administered every three days. At the end of 90 days, 15 of the 16 patients were completely cured. The final person was cured after an additional 30 days of treatment.

HIS WORK BEGINS TO DRAW ATTENTION

Word of Rife's microscope and frequency instruments quickly spread, and soon he was working with many of the top doctors and researchers of the time. The demand grew so much that in 1937, Rife formed Beam Ray, a company to manufacture his frequency instruments. The company made 14 machines, one of which went to a Dr. Richard Hamer in San Diego.

Unfortunately, it was one of Dr. Hamer's patients that may have been the beginning of the end for Rife. An 82-year-old man from Chicago came to see Dr. Hamer. The man had cancer throughout his entire face and neck that had eaten away part of an eyelid and an earlobe. After six months of treatment, all that remained was a little black spot on the side of his face.

After his amazing recovery, the elated man went back to Chicago singing the praises of Dr. Hamer and his amazing Rife machine. Eventually Dr. Morris Fishbein, sole stockholder in the American Medical Association, heard the story and met with the man. He quickly sent a representative to San Diego and attempted to buy Beam Ray, but Rife would not sell.

THE MEDICAL ESTABLISHMENT CLAMPS DOWN

Within this same period of time, Rife's engineer, Philip Hoyland, began to demand more shares of Beam Ray. He maintained that he was more important to the company than other partners, as he was the only one, other than Rife, who knew the frequencies. When his demand was denied, he sued the company, claiming that he not only knew the frequencies, but he had actually discovered them.

While Hoyland ultimately lost the case, the trial had broken Rife and Beam Ray financially. Not only did they have to pour all of their profits into legal fees, they also lost their customer base.

During the trial, the San Diego medical society suddenly proclaimed that anyone using a Rife machine would lose their license to practice medicine. This came as quite a surprise, for the medical society knew of the machines prior to the trial, but had never been concerned. But the result was devastating to the small company. Nearly every physician in possession of a Rife machine returned it. Only Dr. James Couche of San Diego continued to use his machine.

A SHORT-LIVED SECOND CHANCE

In 1950, Rife and new employee John Crane began to build more frequency instruments. They soon took on traveling salesman John Marsh. In 1957, Marsh was visiting his parents in Dayton, Ohio when a sore throat sent him to family physician Dr. Robert Stafford. Marsh told him about the benefits of the Rife machine, and said that if Dr. Stafford ever had a terminally ill cancer patient, he should call him.

Six months later, Stafford had an 82-year-old female patient named Mrs. Byess with end-stage cancer and a life expectancy of 2 to 3 weeks. He called Marsh and Marsh brought him a machine.

Dr. Stafford treated her for 3-5 minutes every other day. Within two weeks she began to recover. She eventually got out of bed, was walking around, and made plans to go home. Unfortunately, she never made it home, as she fell and broke her hip while climbing a flight of stairs and died a week later. However, an autopsy found no cancer in her body at the time of her death.

THE NAIL IN THE COFFIN

While this should have signaled a fresh new start for Rife, it actually heralded his demise. In 1960, Crane was unwittingly taped making medical claims for the instrument by an undercover officer who was sent to buy a machine. All of the machines seized, and Crane and Marsh were arrested and imprisoned for practicing medicine without a license. They both spent three years in jail.

During this time, Rife escaped the pressure of the trial and criticism by going to Mexico. While there, his lab was broken into, set on fire, and most of his equipment was destroyed. He never recovered from the devastating blow and died a broken man in 1971.

RIFE'S WORK IS NOW BEING REVISITED

While no original microscope or frequency machine of Rife's exists in its original state, the concept of using energy to heal disease continues today. And I strongly believe that energy and light frequencies with become the dominant treatment in medicine of the future.

Fortunately, more and more researchers are looking to the past in their efforts to heal in the future. The June 2003 issue of Townsend Letter for Doctors and Patients discusses the use of energy-based frequency at clinics throughout the world. According to researchers, "Electromagnetic frequencies underlie all chemical and mechanical reactions in the body... Applying a frequency that resonates with specific tissues helps the tissue regain coherence and heal."

Their explanations of how electromagnetic therapy works is an echo of Rife¹s research nearly 80 years ago."An assembly of cells, as in a tissue or organ, will have processes, such as cell division. Normally, these frequencies will be very stable. If, for some reason, a cell shifts its frequency, entraining signals from neighboring cells will tend to reinstall the correct frequency. However, if a sufficient number of cells get out-of-step, the strength of the system¹s collective vibrations can decrease to a point where stability is lost."

MODERN EQUIPMENT USING RIFE¹S THEORIES

I wish I could direct you toward medical professionals currently using this form of treatment. Unfortunately, this technology is still considered "taboo" by conventional medicine, and finding a physician using a machine in an office setting is very difficult.

Fortunately, it is completely legal for you to own an electronic therapy (EMT) device and treat yourself at home. I have shared this information with family and friends, and they have subsequently used these devices to treat conditions as varied as herpes, insomnia, colds flu, and digestive complaints.

Machines can differ in price (ranging from $700 to $6,000), in the method of energy output, and how the frequency is induced into you body.

1. Radio Frequencies. This is the delivery system that Rife used. While some machines still use radio frequencies, they cannot be used at the incredibly high frequencies used by Rife, as they would disrupt modern AM radio.
2. Electrical frequencies (TENS). These are more readily available, and usually involve either a hand-held or attachable electrodes. While you can vary the intensity, more sensitive people may prefer a remote-controlled device.
3. Light Therapy. I¹ve discussed this type of healing technique in many pat articles. If you are interested in reviewing previous issues, please call 1-800-829-5876.

If you do purchase a device for yourself, be sure to follow the manufacturers instructions carefully, and start slowly. Your liver needs time to process the damaged and destroyed cells, then eliminate these toxins from you body. It is also important to drink lots of fresh, clean water both before and after treatment.

I'm a working mother; how can I maximize my 3 workouts per week?
Since you're presumably young, you should use almost all of your limited time getting aerobic exercise like running, biking, or brisk walking, said William J. Evans, director of the Nutrition, Metabolism, and Exercise Laboratory at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. That's because "regular aerobic exercise increases life expectancy by decreasing the risk of a host of chronic diseases," ...
